Sharjah24: Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has announced the provision of electricity to 557 event tents, such as those for weddings and condolences, during 2024. This initiative is part of the Authority's commitment to its social responsibility and its dedication to providing the best services to the residents of the Emirate of Sharjah.
Engineer Ahmed Al Bass, Deputy Director of the Electricity Distribution Department, confirmed that the procedures for connecting electricity to tents for weddings and condolences are carried out as quickly as possible. This is in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to facilitate services for all residents of the Emirate of Sharjah.
He emphasised that the Authority is keen on streamlining procedures, ensuring the safety and speed of electricity connections for various occasions. He mentioned that requests for electricity connection to wedding and condolence tents are submitted through the contractor to the connection department within the Electricity Distribution Administration. A technician promptly inspects the location, clarifies the required power on the connection form, and identifies the nearest connection point during official working hours.
In case of emergencies where electricity connection is needed after official hours, residents can visit the emergency electricity offices that operate around the clock. The necessary connection procedures will be taken after the Authority receives approvals from the relevant authorities, ensuring safety and security measures are in place for the tents.
