Sharjah Poetry Festival shines with a night of exceptional verses

Sharjah24: The 21st Sharjah Arabic Poetry Festival continued its vibrant journey on the fourth day with a mesmerising evening of poetry held at Sharjah Palace. The event featured a distinguished lineup of Arab poets and was attended by Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Culture, Mohamed Ibrahim Al Qaseer, Director of the Department of Cultural Affairs, and poet Mohammed Al-Buraiki, Director of the House of Poetry, alongside a large audience of poetry enthusiasts and media representatives.
Hosted by Mufreh Al-Sheqaiqi, the evening brought together six acclaimed poets: Ihab Al-Beshbeishi (Egypt), Al-Munsif Al-Mazghani (Tunisia), Mohamed Al-Amin Al-Nouwari (Morocco), Ammar Hassan (Sudan), Bashayer Mohammed (Saudi Arabia), and Ali Al-Fa’ouri (Jordan). The gathering captivated the audience, who were immersed in the eloquence and creativity of the poets, each presenting their unique voice and style.  

The evening began with Egyptian poet Ihab Al-Beshbeishi, who enchanted the audience with his poem “Dahka’eth”* (Laughter Back Then), a heartfelt journey into the realms of love and romance.  

Tunisian poet Al-Munsif Al-Mazghani followed with his lyrical piece “Ana Okhtukunna”* (I Am Your Sister), weaving themes of love and passion into a captivating dialogue.  

From Sudan, Ammar Hassan brought deep emotion with his poem “Al-Faqir” (The Poor), a poignant expression of longing for homeland.  

Saudi poet Bashayer Mohammed offered “Hikayat Fallah” (The Farmer’s Tale), a beautifully crafted tribute to her grandfather’s struggles and perseverance, painted in vivid poetic imagery.  

Jordanian poet Ali Al-Fa’ouri presented “Rajul Bi Akhir Bardih”(A Man in His Final Chill), a masterpiece brimming with creative depth and powerful expression.  

The evening concluded with Abdullah Al Owais and Mohamed Al Qaseer, joined by Mohammed Al-Buraiki, honouring the poets with certificates of appreciation, celebrating their remarkable contributions to the world of poetry.
