Sharjah 24: Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work (SAVW) receives entries from government agencies, civil institutions, and volunteer teams to compete for the "Best Volunteer Opportunities Creator Award", in its 22nd edition where the application period continues until January 15, 2025 via the award's website.
The "Best Volunteer Opportunities Creator Award" seeks to appreciate and support innovative volunteer projects that effectively contribute to serving the community, and encourage participants to present volunteer initiatives concerned with various events, such as responding to crises and enhancing awareness of volunteer work. It also seeks to empower volunteers through experience and expertise that enrich their community responsibility.
The "Award" requires participants to submit documents and papers, including the decision or approval of the volunteer opportunity; copies of permits and attachments for the relevant authorities; a list of volunteers' names and means of communication with them; copies of the registration of volunteers and participating volunteer teams with official authorities; copies of certificates of appreciation; reports of satisfaction of volunteers, supporters and sponsors; in addition to other documents detailed on the award's website.
Fatima Musa Al Belushi, Executive Director of the award, explained that the new edition includes 11 diverse awards that reflect diversity and inclusiveness in supporting and appreciating volunteer efforts in the community, including the "Best Volunteer Opportunity Creator Award" for government and civil entities and volunteer teams.
Fatima Musa confirmed that the award stipulates that volunteer opportunities be within the entity's jurisdiction according to achieving specific goals, and that the volunteer opportunity's age should not be less than one year as a minimum, provided that the volunteer opportunities are implemented by a number of volunteers, supporters and sponsors.
