Sharjah 24 – WAM: The Muslim Council of Elders, chaired by His Eminence Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, has strongly condemned the burning of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza by Israeli occupation forces, which led to the evacuation of patients and medical staff.

A Crime against humanity

The Council described this act as a grave crime against humanity and a clear violation of international laws and humanitarian conventions. It is seen as part of the ongoing destruction of Gaza's already fragile healthcare infrastructure.

Urgent call for action

The Muslim Council of Elders called for an immediate end to these repeated violations, warning of the dire humanitarian consequences, which could result in more innocent lives lost, particularly among children, patients, and women in Gaza.

International response needed

The Council urged the international community to take swift and decisive action to enforce a ceasefire in Gaza, allowing for the delivery of humanitarian aid and supplies to the Palestinian people.

Path to peace

The Council emphasised that a just and comprehensive peace can only be achieved by ending the Palestinian people's suffering, which has lasted for over seven decades, and by recognizing their legitimate right to an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
