The event, organised by the Sharjah Sports Council, took place at the Khorfakkan Amphitheatre.
The ceremony, held on Friday, was organised in collaboration with the Khorfakkan Sports and Cultural Club. It was attended by several dignitaries, including Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Murr, Chairman of the Khorfakkan Municipal Council, and Salem Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Khorfakkan Sports and Cultural Club.
A large number of officials, club representatives, and sports federations were also present.
Abdul Latif Al Fardan, Member of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Sports Council, shared that 35 teams from 10 countries are participating, with around 700 players and staff involved. The tournament will span three days and features 81 matches. The opening ceremony featured a grand parade of the participating teams, a visual display of past tournament highlights, a basketball showcase by Khorfakkan Club players, and performances including fire shows, Al Yola art, and the tournament oath in seven languages.
