Sharjah Archives participates in Dawahi Festival 13

Sharjah24: The Sharjah Archives is participating in the 13th edition of the Dawahi Festival, held at Al Qarayen Park 4, as part of its ongoing efforts to raise community awareness about the importance of documentation and preserving records. Under the theme "World of Documents," the initiative will run from December 12 to 31, offering a series of interactive workshops designed to engage various segments of the community, particularly children and youth.

"Little Archivist" engages participants in creative documentation

A notable feature of the activities is the "Little Archivist" event, encouraging participants to capture and record the festival's happenings and shows. With cameras and writing tools in hand, participants will have the chance to develop a shared documentation board about the festival, encouraging engagement and a deeper appreciation for the craft of record-keeping.

"Documentary Content Creators" workshop highlights festival participation

As part of its participation, the Sharjah Archives introduced the "Documentary Content Creators" event, providing an overview of the basics of blogging and visual documentation. The workshop focused on key tools and skills, methods for utilising documents and information to craft compelling and meaningful content, and approaches for distributing on digital media platforms.

Moreover, a series of workshops designed for children were held to familiarise them with various document types and highlight their significance in safeguarding the emirate's history and the community's identity. The activities aimed to inspire children to delve into the world of documentation through enjoyable and interactive experiences.

Sharjah Archives highlights role of archiving at Dawahi Festival

Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Archives, highlighted the institution’s involvement in the Dawahi Festival as a key aspect of its mission to promote awareness regarding the significance of documentation and the preservation of records within the community, especially for younger generations.

He remarked, “The Dawahi Festival serves as an excellent opportunity to engage with diverse segments of society and advocate for the principles of national identity.” Our goal is to create a meaningful and successful engagement that enhances the experiences of visitors, aligns with our strategic objectives, and contributes to a brighter, more prosperous future.
