Sharjah24: The Sharjah Charity International (SCI) announced receiving 10,645 assistance requests in 2023, approving 9,092 of them, an impressive approval rate of 85.4%. Housing assistance topped the list with 2,580 requests, followed by 1,855 requests for medical aid. This highlights the SCI’s dedication to promoting family stability and meeting health-related needs as key priorities.

The Sharjah Charity International highlighted that its efforts align with its vision for sustainable leadership in charitable and humanitarian work. By embracing digital transformation, all requests were processed through its website, ensuring faster and more efficient service delivery.

Abdullah Sultan bin Khadim, Executive Director of Sharjah Charity International (SCI), remarked: “Our mission is to support families and individuals facing difficult circumstances, inspired by the guidance of our wise leadership. Achieving an approval rate exceeding 85% reflects our unwavering commitment to delivering aid in accordance with humanitarian and societal values.”

He emphasised that housing aid remains a core focus, as stable housing is fundamental to a dignified and secure life. Medical assistance also plays a critical role in enhancing the quality of life for eligible families, ensuring they receive essential healthcare services. “Each form of assistance contributes to the social and economic stability of our community,” he added.

Abdullah Sultan bin Khadim further highlighted the role of digitisation in streamlining operations, stating:
“Our reliance on digital platforms has improved transparency and efficiency, ensuring aid reaches beneficiaries more effectively. Technology is not merely a tool, it is a cornerstone of our vision for advancing charitable and humanitarian initiatives.”

He noted that the diverse requests received reflect the growing and varied needs of the community. To address these effectively, the Association has implemented comprehensive programs to assess each case individually, providing different assistance for housing, medical, and other necessities.

In his closing remarks, Bin Khadim expressed gratitude to the donors and supporters, saying: “We are deeply thankful to all who have contributed to our mission. We encourage everyone to continue supporting our humanitarian efforts and spreading hope among those in need. Even the smallest contribution can make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and strengthen our collective efforts to build a more cohesive and stable society.”

The Executive Director of Sharjah Charity International emphasised the Association’s dedication to reaching additional milestones in the years ahead, with upcoming initiatives focused on expanding the range of support and enhancing operational effectiveness. He also added, “Our goal is to establish lasting leadership in charitable initiatives while committing to the enhancement of our programs to guarantee continuous support and a meaningful influence in our community.”
