Sharjah24: The regional office of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) in Sharjah hosted the famous Islamic calligrapher Mohammed Jassim at its booth during the 43rd Sharjah International Book Fair SIBF, organized by the Sharjah Book Authority at the Sharjah Expo Center.
The ICSO booth attracted many visitors who had the opportunity to meet the talented calligrapher and have their names written in his distinctive handwriting.

Mohammed Jassim, one of the most prominent calligraphers in the Islamic world, made history when he entered the Guinness World Records in December 2022 for creating the longest handwritten Quranic manuscript in the world, measuring 1,106 meters. This exceptional artistic achievement reflects Jassim's excellence in the field of Islamic calligraphy. Born in Kerala, India, Jassim specialized in Arabic calligraphy from a young age and dedicated his life to mastering this creative art that showcases the beauty of Arabic writing.

In a statement, Salem Omar Salem, Director of the ICSO regional office in Sharjah, noted that hosting Mohammed Jassim at the ICSO booth is part of the organization’s efforts to highlight cultural and artistic achievements that reflect the richness of Islamic heritage, as well as the innovations of contemporary calligraphers who continue to enrich this ancient art.

Salem emphasized the significance of hosting calligrapher Mohammed Jassim at the Sharjah International Book Fair, describing him as a prominent figure in the world of Islamic calligraphy and a role model for creativity and excellence. The booth aimed to facilitate his interaction with visitors by allowing them to have their names written, providing a unique experience that encourages engagement with this exquisite art form.

Visitors flocked to the ICSO booth to enjoy watching Jassim write their names in his beautiful styles, adding a touch of beauty and interaction with this refined art. They also had the chance to closely examine Jassim's calligraphic manuscripts displayed at the booth, documenting his historic achievement in the field of Arabic calligraphy.
