Sharjah24: The regional office of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) in Sharjah organized a special training workshop titled "The Art of Designing Travel Journal Covers" as part of its participation in the 43rd Sharjah International Book Fair, organized by the Sharjah Book Authority at the Expo Centre Sharjah.
The workshop, held on Friday morning under the supervision of trainer Mary Alex, a specialist in neuro-linguistic programming, attracted a notable attendance from a group of school students in Sharjah, as well as students from the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services. The workshop focused on equipping participants with artistic and creative skills in designing travel journal covers, encouraging them to use various techniques to express their ideas and personal experiences.

The workshop provided a supportive and open learning environment for expression, supplying participants with a variety of materials such as stickers, decoupage paper, markers, and colored ribbons. Participants discovered how to integrate these materials to design unique covers that reflect their personal style and sense of adventure.

Mary Alex, the workshop facilitator, stated, "The goal of this workshop is not only to teach participants how to design a cover for a travel journal but also to inspire them to freely express their creative ideas without limitations. We encourage them to explore diverse artistic techniques, such as layering and collage, making each design unique and reflective of the designer's personality."

Alex added that the workshop was an opportunity for participants to explore their creativity in an enjoyable and open manner, as they chose free drawing techniques or combined different materials to create covers that express their feelings and thoughts about travel and adventure. At the end of the workshop, participants left with travel journals featuring distinctive covers, ready to accompany them on their upcoming educational and experimental adventures.

The participating students showcased rich models that reflected their creativity in cover design, using a mix of colors and distinctive symbols to create detailed and inspiring designs that represented their personal adventures and aspirations. There was a sense of excitement and positivity among the participants, who excelled in presenting their journals and designs, creating an atmosphere of joy and collective interaction.

Some students expressed how beneficial this unique experience was, noting that they learned new techniques for using artistic materials and how to express themselves through their travel journal cover designs. Additionally, the attendees from the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services significantly enriched the workshop with their artistic contributions, demonstrating great engagement with the activities and presenting designs rich in color and symbolism that reflected their uniqueness and personal experiences.

In a statement, Salem Omar Salem, Director of the ISESCO Regional Office in Sharjah, pointed out that the workshop aligns with ISESCO's commitment to providing educational and cultural programs and workshops that encourage creativity and develop youth skills in various artistic and cultural fields. The regional office in Sharjah aims to enhance the organization's role in promoting culture, education, and science, and to support sustainable development initiatives focused on creating positive change in the community.

He emphasized that this workshop highlights the importance of integrating the arts into the educational process and the role of creativity in enhancing critical thinking and personal development. This event is part of a series of workshops and training courses organized by ISESCO to activate the educational and cultural role in Arab and Islamic communities, reflecting the organization's plans to promote comprehensive development. The workshop embodies the positive interaction between education and art, underscoring the need to develop youth skills in line with the demands of the modern age and the requirements of personal creativity in various fields.
