Sharjah 24: In celebration of the UAE's National Day, the social assistance section at the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) took part in the "Farhat Watan" event, organised by the Sharjah Heritage Museum.
The museum hosted several beneficiaries from the department, who are eligible for social security, in an event that beautifully blended heritage and art in a national celebratory atmosphere.

The event featured a range of cultural and heritage activities. On the first day, attendees enjoyed a hands-on experience in creating "Al-Mudkhan" (traditional incense burner) using Jesmonite. The second day involved a fun and creative cake-decorating activity, where participants had the opportunity to decorate their own cakes with cream in the colours of the UAE flag.

Alia Al-Zaabi, director of the social assistance section, explained that the department's participation in the "Farhat Watan" event aims to strengthen the spirit of national pride and belonging, while also reviving Emirati heritage and highlighting authentic cultural values in an inclusive atmosphere that brings together diverse members of society.

Al-Zaabi further emphasised that such events foster communication and help instill national values across generations. She added that the event aligns with the Social Services Department's commitment to promoting national identity and deepening heritage values within its community, ensuring that Union Day is not only a time for celebration but also an opportunity to enrich society through meaningful activities.
