Sharjah24: Dr Bana Yousuf Buzaboon, Psychological Expert and Mental Health Director at Kanaf Centre, Child Safety Department of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA) in Sharjah, confirmed that the centre organised, on Tuesday, an important session, on "Positive Parenting Methods and Their Impact on Children's Behaviours", as part of the activities of Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF).
Speaking exclusively to Sharjah 24, Dr Bana Bizaboon stated that there are many problems facing parents, and confusion between old parenting and the so-called modern parenting, as the outcomes and challenges of parenting focus on children and adolescents’ problems; therefore, the Centre focused on the workshop on parenting using consequence instead of punishment, which is one of the best methods of parenting. She added that participants were trained on behavioural skills and how to parent using consequences and effective communication to create a balanced generation that enjoys mental health and good family relationships to build society fundamentally.
