Sharjah24: Aisha Rashid Deemas, Director General of SMA, announced the launch of the SAWA Conference, marking ten years of the SAWA program, a pioneering initiative that has significantly contributed to cross-cultural museum learning , on Monday. Organized by the Sharjah Museums Authority, this conference marks the 10th anniversary of the “SAWA” program, which has made significant strides in promoting cross-cultural museum learning and enhancing professional skills in the Middle East and Europe. The event welcomed a diverse group of officials, experts, and academic specialists.
In an exclusive interview with “Sharjah 24”, Aisha Deemas highlighted the critical role of the “SAWA” program in nurturing the professional development of museum staff and fostering new avenues for cultural and scientific collaboration. This initiative is vital for spreading cultural knowledge and fostering a deeper understanding among different communities. The program serves as a platform to underscore the essential role museums play in nurturing cultural connections and building more open, understanding societies.

The conference also welcomed prominent attendees, including Sheikh Fahim Bin Sultan Bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Executive Chairman of the Department of Government Relations in Sharjah, and Sybille Pfaff, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Dubai, along with a host of other officials, experts, and academics dedicated to the fields of museums and culture.
