Sharjah 24 – AFP: North Korea has pledged to support Russia until its victory in Ukraine, according to Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui during her visit to Moscow. This comes amid U.S. warnings that thousands of North Korean troops may soon be deployed to the conflict.
Choe stated, "We will always stand firmly by our Russian comrades until victory day," and expressed confidence in President Putin's leadership. She called Russia's military actions a "sacred struggle" and reaffirmed North Korea's commitment to advancing its nuclear capabilities.
While troop deployment reports have not been officially confirmed, U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin noted that any North Korean forces would not replace the casualties Russia has suffered. Lavrov expressed gratitude for North Korea's support, emphasizing the strengthening ties between their military forces.
Concerns remain over the implications of North Korean troop involvement, with South Korea warning that it could escalate security threats in the region.
