Sharjah24: Sharjah Children, part of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, hosted a discussion session on artificial intelligence on Sunday, October 27, at the Rubu’ Qarn Life Skills Centre. The event is part of the 17th session of the Sharjah Children Shura Council, held under the theme “A Quarter Century of Excellence in Parliamentary Work.”
A session focused on the advantages and disadvantages of artificial intelligence was conducted for members, featuring Khawla Al Hawai, Director of Sharjah Children. The discussion was led by Ayman Al Barout, Secretary-General of the Arab Parliament for Children. In addition, Hanadi Al Yafei, Director-General of the Child Safety Department, and Ms. Nahla Hamdan, Deputy Director-General of the Child Safety Department, actively participated in the conversation.

They emphasized the critical role of artificial intelligence in enhancing student support, facilitating school research, and its broad application across various aspects of daily life. However, they also cautioned against the risks of electronic blackmail, particularly given the potential for manipulating images and sounds. This, they pointed out, can have detrimental effects on families and society as a whole. They stressed the need to restrict the use of artificial intelligence to specific institutions and companies that can foster community awareness and provide better protection for children.

They also tackled the topic of artificial intelligence applications, focusing on how to monitor them for the benefit of parents and other concerned parties. The discussion covered various aspects that resonate with their worries and aspirations for the future. They emphasized the importance of staying attentive to educational matters and utilizing technology to enhance students' understanding of modern sciences.
