'Ruwaq' to hold 'Travels of the City of Clay' session

Sharjah 24: Based on the importance of literature and knowledge and their role in raising the status of the individual in society, Sharjah Capability Development “Tatweer”, affiliated with Rubu Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, announced the holding of a new literary session of the “Ruwaq” programme entitled "Travels of the City of Clay" by writer Saud Alsanousi, on the sidelines of the 43rd Sharjah International Book Fair.
The session will be held at 11 am on November 16 at "Multaqa 3" inside the exhibition. During the session, the ideas presented in the novel "Travels of the City of Clay" will be discussed, and the participants will exchange opinions about the characters of the novel and its plot in an analytical and critical manner.

Saud Alsanousi is a Gulf writer of Kuwaiti nationality, who won the Arabic Booker Prize in 2013, and is known for his creativity in presenting novels that address social issues in a masterful narrative style, such as the novel "The Bamboo Stalk", which was turned into a television drama.

In his novel "Travels of the City of Clay", the author combines history and imagination to illustrate the impact of wars and conflicts on societies. The novel revolves around the idea of returning to the roots and trying to understand and search for the self in a changing world. It is one of the important works that discuss history and human identity.

As for the "Ruwaq" programme, it is the first literary programme organised by Sharjah Capability Development “Tatweer”, aiming to enhance the skills of participants in the fields of storytelling, reading and reading. The programme consists of a variety of literary activities that aim to build a community passionate about literature in all its forms. The programme also provides literature lovers with the opportunity to engage in deep discussions on various literary topics.
