Sharjah24 : Dr. Ali Al Qablawi, Chairman of the Scientific Committee for the Sharjah International Conference on Biotechnology, stated that the conference brings together a distinguished group of international and local experts to showcase the latest developments in biotechnology. The aim is to highlight the practical applications of biotechnology that can contribute to improving health, protecting the environment, and enhancing food security.

In an interview with Sharjah 24, Dr. Al-Qablawi noted that biotechnology is no longer confined to laboratories; it has become an integral part of our daily lives. It is used in developing gene therapies for incurable diseases and contributes to improving agricultural production sustainably, providing healthy food while preserving the environment.

Al-Qablawi mentioned that the conference will discuss, over three days, applications of artificial intelligence in genomics, the role of growth-promoting bacteria in improving contaminated soil, as well as the contributions of medical biotechnology and new research on treating genetic diseases and innovating new therapies. He emphasized that the conference serves as a platform for exchanging ideas and collaboration among researchers from around the world, which can accelerate innovations that directly improve our quality of life.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Mutairi, Associate Professor in the College of Sciences at the University of Sharjah, remarked that this is the first conference held in the country to discuss biotechnology, where we have focused on selecting very important topics for students and the community. He pointed out that students will benefit from the conference by learning how to present scientific discoveries and showcase their research results.

Al-Mutairi added that the speakers represent leading experts in the field from the United States, the UK, and Europe, who will share their expertise with students, thereby enhancing scientific research and technology to serve the community. He also indicated that there will be future conferences in the coming years.
