Sharjah24: Players from our national Jiu-Jitsu team have won 7 medals at the ongoing World Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Greece, with the medals consisting of two golds, three silvers, and two bronzes.
Under the sponsorship of Mubadala Investment Company, our national Jiu-Jitsu team has shown remarkable performance at the ongoing World Jiu-Jitsu Championship in the Greek city of Heraklion, which will continue until November 4, and its players have secured 7 medals in the adult category, including two golds, three silvers, and two bronzes.

Yesterday's competitions saw the participation of Balqees Abdul Karim and Aisha Al Shamsi in the 45 kg category, Meitha Shareem and Hamda Al Shukaili in the 48 kg category, Hessa Al Shamsi and Asma Al Housani in the 52 kg category for women, Omar Al Sweidi and Zaid Al Kathiri in the 56 kg category, Khaled Al Balushi and Khaled Al Shihhi in the 62 kg category, and Mohammed Al Sweidi and Sultan Hassan in the 69 kg category for men.

Omar Al Sweidi and Khaled Al Shihhi secured gold, while Balqees Al Hashemi and Zaid Al Kathiri won silver medals, and Aisha Al Shamsi and Meitha Shareem achieved bronze medals.

Fahad Ali Al Shamsi, the Secretary-General of the Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation, praised the unlimited support from the wise leadership for the sons and daughters of the nation, affirming that this support has had a significant impact on the development of the national team and enhancing its leadership on the global stage.
He commended the achievements of the players, highlighting their success in winning a number of colorful medals that enhance the team's chances of maintaining its title.

He continued: "What our sons and daughters have achieved today reflects the success of intensive preparation plans and the team's preparations for competing in such global championships.

Omar Al Sweidi succeeded in adding a new gold to his distinguished record in the 56 kg category, excelling in all the fights he participated in, reaching the final fight that pitted him against his compatriot Zaid Al Kathiri in a purely Emirati final.
