Sharjah24: Dr. Eng. Khalifa Al Tunaiji, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Agriculture and Livestock (SDAL) , affirmed that the Emirate of Sharjah continues its successes and ambitious projects to enhance food security through several pioneering and sustainable projects.

Al Tunaiji praised the visit of Her Excellency Dr. Amna Abdullah Al Dahak, the Minister of Climate Change and Environment, to the wheat farm and grazing land of Mleiha.
In statements to Sharjah 24 on the sidelines of receiving her Excellency accompanied by His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Nuaimi, the Ministry's Undersecretary, and a number of department directors and senior officials in the Ministry, Al Tunaiji stated that the Department of Agriculture is keen on enhancing cooperation with the Ministry.

Al Tunaiji added that Her Excellency and the accompanying delegation began the visit by planting Ghaf trees in Mleiha grazing land, in line with the objectives of the "Plant the Emirates" national program.

He explained that the visiting delegation learned about Sharjah's inspiring experience in wheat farming and what the wheat farm in Mleiha includes, such as laboratories and advanced wheat strain improvement technology, in addition to getting acquainted with the modern systems used in irrigation management and germination at the farm.

The Chairman of the Department of Agriculture emphasized that His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi,  Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, prioritizes food security projects, noting that efforts and projects in this context are ongoing, including vegetable and fruit cultivation, dairy products, poultry, and soon a goat farm.
