Cairo hosts Salha Ghabish to discuss her writing career

Sharjah24: The Al-Zaytoun Literary Workshop in Cairo will host Emirati poet and writer Salha Ghabish for a significant cultural evening tomorrow, Monday, 21st October, to discuss her novel "The Scent of Ginger," published by the Sharjah Department of Culture and recently translated into French. The event will additionally highlight her extensive literary background.
The evening will showcase a significant assembly of Egyptian critics, featuring Dr Fatima Al-Saeedi, Dr Israa Badawi, novelist Dr Mohammed Ibrahim Taha, and critic and storyteller Magdy Nassar. The event will feature the esteemed writer and poet Shaaban Youssef as the moderator. 

Ghabish has received an invitation from the House of Poetry in Luxor for an evening dedicated to poetry, where her contributions to the genre will be examined by various specialists and critics in modern Arabic literature, accompanied by readings from her collections. 

Salha Ghabish has published seven poetry collections, which include "Waiting for the Sun," "Mirrors Are Not the Same," "Now I Know," "With Whom, O Buthaina, Do You Seek Refuge?" "Becoming Possible," and "In the Blue Depths."

Alongside "The Scent of Ginger", she has recently published another novel, "Memories' Papers", in addition to various short story collections, children's tales, and several plays aimed at young audiences.

Ghabish possesses a master’s degree from Dar Al Uloom College in Cairo and has undertaken various cultural roles in Sharjah, earning multiple literary and poetry awards.
