Sharjah24: As part of the celebration of Arab Document Day, a delegation from the Sharjah Archive, headed by His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department, took part in the celebration hosted by the General Secretariat of the Arab League in partnership with the Arab regional branch of the International Council on Archives "ARBICA". The event was held at the League's headquarters located in Cairo, Egypt.
The event featured discussions on the significance of Arab archives in promoting sustainability, a range of engaging activities, and a documentary exhibition showcasing the initiatives of Arab institutions dedicated to document preservation.
Multiple cooperation agreements have been established between the Arab League and various Arab institutions and centres focused on document preservation. This highlights the significance of knowledge sharing and collaboration among professionals in this domain.
At the event, Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi honoured the Secretary-General of the Arab League by awarding him a commemorative shield from the Sharjah Archive. This action acknowledges the League’s commitment to highlighting the importance of Arab documents and their crucial role in enhancing collaboration among institutions, acting as a means to strengthen unity and solidarity among Arab nations.
