Ministry of Defence Undersecretary visits Sacheon Air Base

Sharjah 24 – WAM: Lieutenant General Ibrahim Nasser Al-Alawi, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Defence, visited Sacheon Air Base in the Republic of Korea as part of an official high-level delegation.

Tour of KF-21 Aircraft and Joint Flight

During the visit, Al-Alawi inspected the prototype of the KF-21 aircraft. He also participated in a joint flight aboard an FA-50 fighter jet alongside General Lee Young-Soo, Chief of Staff of the Korean Air Force. The demonstration highlighted Korea's domestic capabilities in aircraft manufacturing.

Strengthening defence ties

This visit is part of a broader official programme aimed at enhancing defence cooperation between the UAE and South Korea. It includes meetings and collaborative activities focused on strategic areas of mutual interest and the exchange of defence expertise.

Meeting with Korean Defence Minister

Earlier in the visit, Al-Alawi met with Ahn Gyu-back, Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Korea, to further discuss avenues of bilateral military cooperation.
