Sharjah24: Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Humaid Al Qasimi, President of the Arab Chess Federation, presided over the crowning ceremony of the winners of the Arab Clubs Chess Championship, hosted by the Sultanate of Oman and organized by the Oman Chess Committee in cooperation with Salalah Club from October 3 to 9, 2024. The championship featured participation from clubs representing 7 Arab countries, with a total of 50 players from Palestine, UAE, Kuwait, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, and Oman.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Saif Al Busaidi, Wali of Salalah, together with Sheikh Khalid Al Qasimi, presented awards to the participating clubs, supporting organizations, referees, collaborating organizers, and the top achievers in the championship's overall competition. The Peshmerga Club from the Republic of Iraq secured the first position, followed by the Barada Club from the Syrian Arab Republic in second place, and the Abu Dhabi Club from the United Arab Emirates in third place.

Sheikh Khalid Al Qasimi commended the high caliber of the players, the successful execution, and the exceptional organization of the tournament. He emphasized the exemplary job done by the Oman Chess Committee and Salalah Club in orchestrating the tournament, providing a valuable platform for participating clubs to foster player development and interaction. The event showcased a select group of emerging players expected to become future champions, highlighting their potential for significant achievements.
