Sharjah24: Sharjah’s men’s handball team extended its winning record in the 2024-2025 UAE Handball Cup by overcoming Mleiha with a decisive score of 34-24 in the third round. The match took place, on Saturday, at Sharjah Club’s Lounge, attracting a significant number of dedicated fans. Sharjah held a 16-12 lead at halftime, marking their third consecutive win.
Following this outcome, Sharjah, the reigning champions of the UAE Cup, climbed to the top of the rankings with 9 points, sharing the position with Shabab Al Ahli Dubai. Sharjah secured victories in their previous matches against Dibba Al Hisn and Al Wahda.
The UAE Cup is being held this year from October 4 to October 26 as a single-round competition including seven competing teams: Sharjah, Mleiha, Shabab Al Ahli, Al Wasl, Al Nasr, Dibba Al Hisn, and Al Wahda.
On October 15, Sharjah and Shabab Al Ahli will play in a much awaited fourth-round encounter that might decide who wins the championship.
