Rubu’ Qarn announces launch of "Mission-1" program

Sharjah24: As part of the efforts of the Emirate of Sharjah to enhance development in the field of space science and astronomy, Rubu’ Qarn for Science and Technology announces the launch of "Mission-1" program in partnership with the University of Sharjah, and the American University of Sharjah, which aims to engage youth and professionals in a unique experience using the latest technologies and skills to design, build, and program a space rover capable of accomplishing space missions. The program is scheduled to begin on October 12 at the Rubu Qarn Center for Science and Technology.
The first level of the program targets school students from grades 9 to 12, who are technology and programming enthusiasts to join teams with the aim of building space rovers. Participants will receive hands-on training under the supervision of experts and a distinguished academic professors. 
The second level is for individuals aged 18 and above, targeting engineers and programmers to build a single space rover from scratch using their knowledge and experience, under the guidance of industry experts and an academic team that includes professors from various universities, with the opportunity to qualify for the European Rover Challenge 2025 in Poland.

The program aims to equip participants with various skills and experiences, such as mechanical design and material selection, software development and operating systems, automation, as well as project management and teamwork skills. Nevertheless, the program reflects the values of the Rubu’ Qarn which aims at providing an environment that fosters creativity, innovation, and future-oriented thinking.
