Sharjah 24: Dr. Mohammed Hassan, a researcher in Arabic calligraphy and one of the main speakers at the international symposium accompanying the Calligraphy Biennial, stated that the symposium is the academic backer of one of the most important artistic events in the Arab world and internationally, which is the Calligraphy Biennial organised by the Department of Culture in Sharjah.
He maintained that the symposium was titled “Arabic calligraphy – approaches and schools”, and is based on the fusion of what is historical, artistic and cultural, so that there is a vision different from the artistic vision of the artist, academic or researcher.
He added, in statements to "Sharjah 24", that the focus of this year's symposium is based on the direction of reading the concept of the school and the nature of the curricula accompanying it, explaining that there are many schools of art in the Arab-Islamic civilisation, which confirms that Islamic art is renewable and can absorb others and always increases the experience of artists and academics.
