Sharjah 24: His Excellency Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Chairman of the Sharjah Economic Development Department, emphasised the significance of the “Opportunities and Partnerships Forum” organised by the Sharjah Foundation to Support Pioneering Entrepreneurs (RUWAD)." He highlighted its role in fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors and enhancing entrepreneurial initiatives.
Speaking to Sharjah 24, Al Mahmoud noted that the forum successfully brought together entrepreneurs from RUWAD and representatives from various government agencies. He stated that the event showcased key services and initiatives offered by these agencies, facilitating the signing of several tenders and agreements under the "Networking" initiative among RUWAD members.
Al Mahmoud underscored that small and medium enterprises (SMEs) account for over 95% of the UAE's national economy, making this forum a vital platform for supporting these businesses, particularly within the government procurement programme. He also mentioned that RUWAD currently comprises over 1,200 projects across commercial, industrial, and professional sectors.
