Sharjah 24: Tarek Abou El Fetouh, Senior Curator and Director of the Performance Department, and Sara Al Mheiri, Assistant Curator at Sharjah Art Foundation, are participating in Vantage Point Sharjah 12, running until December 8, 2024, at Bait Obaid Al Shamsi.
El Fetouh emphasised that this edition features performances from 1966 to the present, organized into four sections, each focused on a specific performance. The showcase includes artworks produced during these events, highlighting the blend of stage production and visual art, inspired by William Wordsworth's theatrical works. It features animation, drawings, and installations typically associated with stage productions.
Al Mheiri added that this year's theme, "If I Were Another," is inspired by a poem by Mahmoud Darwish. The exhibition presents works from four international artists: Mosfiqur Rahman Johan (Bangladesh), Sara Kontar (Syria), Thasil Suhara Backer (India), and Arum Dayu (Indonesia), with each artist exhibiting in their own designated space.
