Sharjah 24 – WAM: The UAE National Men's Team secured a victory against Guatemala, winning 3.5 to 0.5 in the seventh round of the World Chess Olympiad in Budapest. This marks the team's third win, bringing their total score to 8 points and positioning them as the top Arab team, while India leads overall with 12 points.
In the upcoming eighth round, the UAE will face Egypt, with matchups including Salem Abdul Rahman against Basem Amin, Imran Al Hosani against Adham Fawzy, Ammar Al Sadrani against Hamed Wafa, and Ibrahim Sultan against Sameh Sadek.
Additionally, the UAE Chess Federation delegation participated in the International Chess Federation Congress held alongside the Olympiad. Attendees included Taryam Matar Taryam, Chairman of the UAE Chess Federation, and other key officials.
