Sultan bin Ahmed attends professorship agreement signing at UOS

Sharjah 24: Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, President of the University of Sharjah (UOS), and Chairman of the Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) attended, on Thursday, in his office at the university, the signing of a professorship funding agreement between the UoS and SNOC.
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed was received by Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Chairman of SNOC; Dr. Hamed Joul Al Nuaimi, Chancellor of UoS; Eng. Hatem Al Mousa, CEO of SNOC; and a number of officials from both parties.
The agreement, which stipulates that SNOC shall fund a professorship chair in the name of the corporation at the UoS, was signed by Dr. Hamid Joul Al Nuaimi and Engineer Hatem Al Mousa.
The agreement signed between the two parties stipulates that SNOC shall fund a professorship chair, in the name of the corporation, at the University of Sharjah, as a contribution to enriching the research and educational activities of the university to enhance its role in developing society and achieving sustainable development.

The areas of the professorship agreement include supporting scientific research and development in the fields of energy, water, environment and other fields with the necessary equipment, resources and systems; and supporting and funding scientific conferences related to the fields of energy, water and environment, including the Forum for Women in Research organised by UoS.
The agreement stipulates that UoS shall propose studies and research according to the agreed upon fields within a specialised team of faculty members and experts who will conduct these studies and research. 

The cooperation also includes practical training and supervision of the research of university students at the master's and doctoral levels. According to the signed agreement, SNOC shall finance the professorship project at UoS by allocating an annual budget of one million Emirati dirhams, for a period of 10 years.
