Sharjah 24 – AFP: Indonesia is hosting the Super Garuda Shield military exercise, which began Monday in Sidoarjo, East Java. This two-week event involves thousands of troops from Indonesia, the US, and eight other countries, focusing on enhancing joint capabilities in the Asia-Pacific region.
The exercises, first held in 2007, feature a range of activities, including field training, live-fire events, and various operations such as airborne, amphibious, and cyber exercises. They aim to strengthen collective military skills and showcase commitment to a stable Indo-Pacific.
Participants also include Australia, Japan, Britain, Singapore, South Korea, Canada, New Zealand, and France. Additionally, observer nations like Brazil, Germany, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, the Netherlands, Timor Leste, and Papua New Guinea are attending.
