Sharjah24: United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) hosted the 3rd edition of the University Challenge (UC) as part of the lead-up to the International Government Communication Forum (IGCF) at Expo Center Sharjah. In conjunction, the AI Skills Camp was organised by the Artificial Intelligence Journalism for Research and Forecasting (AIJRF).
Marwan Al Shihhi, a member of the University Challenge judging panel, emphasised the global reach of this year's competition, as 24 teams from various countries compete for a total of 180,000 AED in prizes, with the focus on content creation. He mentioned that the winning team will be examined on various criteria, including their methodology, the clarity of their idea, their use of AI and modern tools, their sustainability, and their presentation skills.
Dr. Mohamed Abdulzaher, CEO of AIJRF stated that the AI Skills Camp aims to enhance the skills of younger participants in using AI technologies and applications, with a specific focus on content creation. He added that the participants’ ultimate goal is to compete for a prestigious global award in AI content creation at the conclusion of the forum.
