Sharjah 24 – WAM: Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), affirmed the pioneering and inspiring role and the remarkable track record of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak (The Mother of the Nation), Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation in empowering Emirati women, serving as a model for women worldwide.
In a statement marking Emirati Women’s Day, the FNC Speaker said that this day reaffirms the collaborative approach that the country has adopted since its establishment by the UAE Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, by ensuring all society segments are involved in achieving the country’s vision. He added that achieving sustainability is a collaborative effort that requires unified actions.

Ghobash explained that Emirati women are strategic partners in driving sustainability through various roles, whether in their families by being good role models or in professional and societal settings.

The remarkable achievements made by Emirati women are the fruit of the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed to ensure women are equally involved in nation-building. They also align with the renewed women's empowerment drive launched by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates.
