Sharjah Youth Shura Council Visits Youth City 2030 in Bahrain

Sharjah24: Her Excellency Mrs. Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain, received a delegation from the members of the Sharjah Youth Shura Council, organised by Sharjah Youth and Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, both affiliated with the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators. This visit aimed to learn about Bahrain's experience in youth care and explore key programmes that develop their talents and enhance their capabilities, including Youth City 2030 and the Muharraq Model Center.
During the meeting, Her Excellency emphasised the deep, strong, and enduring fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, their leadership, and their peoples, highlighting the mutual commitment to continue enhancing and developing these ties. She also noted the flourishing cooperation and joint efforts in various fields, including the youth sector, which is steadily progressing toward sustainable development.

Her Excellency also mentioned Bahrain's keenness to welcome youth delegations from the UAE, aiming to bring together young people from both countries to exchange ideas and successful experiences in youth work and to learn about the visions of the youth of both countries that contribute to building a distinguished future in various fields. She also discussed with the members of the Sharjah Youth Shura Council several topics, including aspects of youth empowerment, the importance of listening to youth voices, and involving them in national projects that shape the future of nations.

On his part, Mr. Abdul Hamid Al Yassi, head of the delegation, extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to Her Excellency the Minister of Youth Affairs for the warm welcome to the members of the Sharjah Youth Shura Council. He praised the effective role of the Kingdom of Bahrain and its continuous commitment to advancing joint youth work with the UAE and supporting the skills and capabilities of young people in various fields.

Al Yassi pointed out that the visit is part of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation’s efforts to develop young people’s skills in various fields, support their abilities, and prepare them to lead development efforts and adopt initiatives that achieve the vision and strategy of the United Arab Emirates, reflecting the efforts of the Emirate of Sharjah in building generations characterised by knowledge, wisdom, and sustainable thinking.

The members of the Sharjah Youth Shura Council spent a week full of knowledge, unique experiences, and renewed insights in Bahrain. This included distinctive visits to the Shura Council to learn about the parliamentary experience in the Kingdom, in addition to the Muharraq Model Center and Youth City 2030, which includes several specialised centres, each playing an important role in building youth capacities and preparing them to face future challenges. They had the opportunity to engage in self-discovery sessions with coach Ashwaq Bouali, who specialises in leadership, motivation, and self-discovery, equipping them with new skills that enabled them to have a deeper understanding of their potential and to channel their energy correctly to achieve their future goals.

During the visit to the centres, the members acquired many skills, most notably leadership skills, unleashing entrepreneurial ideas, skills for improving quality of life and achieving balance through learning about the importance of physical activity and mental health, in addition to gaining unique insights into the importance of media in positive influence and shaping public opinion.

The visit is part of the agenda of the Sharjah Youth Shura Council in its eighth session, held under the slogan "A Quarter of a Century of Excellence in Parliamentary Work."
