Sharjah 24: Moza Handhal, Head of Programmes and Events at the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) in the Eastern Region, stressed the SBA’s keenness to promote a culture of reading among children and youth through a range of programmes held throughout the year.
The SBA’s office in the Eastern Region organised, on Friday, a cultural and entertainment programme for children entitled “Letters and Words” in Kalba Mall.
Moza Handhal said that the programme aimed to promote a culture of reading among children within an attractive framework that combines education and entertainment.
She explained in statements to “Sharjah 24” that the programme included a number of training workshops that focused on writing, reading, and drawing skills, in addition to a number of public competitions that included the distribution of prizes and gifts to the participating children.
In turn, the child Hamid Saeed Al Zaabi, Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Children Shura Council, said that the programme, like other events organised by the SBA, aims to encourage children to read and learn, and enrich their imagination through attractive and exciting events and activities.
