Sharjah24: Coinciding with the International Youth Day that that takes place on August 12th annually, Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” reformed its Youth Council for the years 2024- 2026 in its third session to enhance their role in the development process and enable their effective participation, which contributes to achieving a better future for them and for the society.
Through this practice, SEDD aims to aims to support promising youth energies, and to explore and enhance ways to empower them. This goes in line with UAE and Sharjah’s visions to bring the youth to the world. This is done through adopting the needed initiatives and developing the best solutions, outcomes and positive practices, as well as by working as a team to reach the best outcomes for the upcoming future and generation.
It should be noted that the council includes fourteen young individuals that are Khuloud Eisa Al Zarouni, Yahya Mohamed Al Yasi, Abdelrahman Ali Al Rudwan, Majid Ibrahim Almazmi, Ibrahim Hamad Al Zaabi, Marwa Omar Halabi, Fatima Fadil bin Hadda, Abdelaziz Hamid Al Abdouli, Salma Humaid Shattaf, Saeed Saif Al Muhairi, Ibrahim Mousa Almazmi, Khakid Abdalla Al Ali, Ali Al Ali, and Ali Ahmed Al Qawadi.
Commenting on that, HE Hamad Ali Abdalla Al Mahmoud, SEDD Chairman, pointed out that youth councils constitute an ideal platform to enhance direct communication between youth and decision-makers, and an innovative tool to embrace their innovations and motivate them to contribute effectively to achieving the leadership’s aspirations and the future directions and goals of the country. HE added that UAE pays great attention to creating a sustainable and knowledge based future through the youth power it holds. HE carried on that such thing requires combining all efforts and unifying national energies within a single crucible that expresses the visions, ambitions and aspirations of the youth, and harnessing their talents and ideas to improve the work. This all is based on the wise vision of HH Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to adopt youth ideas in various areas to activate their role in a way that contributes to achieving a better future for them and for the society.
Additionally, HE clarified that reforming the Youth Council at SEDD came as an implementation of its vision to empower youth and enhance the process of development and regeneration that SEDD focuses on to create an advanced work environment that achieves the aspirations and ambitions of youth. This will contribute in allowing such category to get involved in the process on decision making to allow them to attain the required sustatible development that the Department seeks to.
From her side, Kholoud Eisa Al Zarouni, Head of SEDD Youth Council, expressed her gratitude and pleasure for the initiative to reform the Department’s Youth Council. She emphasized that the members of such Council will do their best to be good examples for their colleagues and such thing is considered an effective communication platform to learn about different opinions on various issues raised. Likely, Al Zarouni added that the Council will work according to the vision and mission of the Department to provide a positive work environment for its employees in order to achieve best results and outcomes locally and federally.
