Sharjah 24: In the first half of 2024, the Sharjah Economic Development Department conducted 17 benchmarking studies with local and federal entities across the public and private sectors. These studies aimed to share knowledge, review best practices, and accelerate development.
Benchmarking involves analysing processes and practices from various fields to identify successful strategies and improve work procedures. This practice helps refine the strategic plan and enhances performance.

Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Chairman of the Sharjah Economic Development Department, emphasised the commitment to high standards and continuous improvement. He noted that these exchanges of experience foster cooperation, accelerate development, and strengthen the emirate's economy, making it more competitive globally.

Dr. Ahmed Ali Al Ali, Deputy Director of the Strategic Planning and Performance Department, highlighted that the department is evaluating the impact of these studies. He mentioned that benchmarking has led to advancements in development, innovation, and design, contributing to improved service delivery and strategic planning, aligning with international best practices.
