Mali Arabic Poetry Forum celebrates Arabic language

Sharjah 24: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and within the framework of the Poetry Forums Initiative in Africa, the Republic of Mali witnessed the launch of the third edition of the Arabic Poetry Forum, which was organised by the Department of Cultural Affairs at the Department of Culture in Sharjah in cooperation with Al Bayan Literary Association, with the participation of more than 20 poets, both male and female.
The forum was held at the Palace of Culture in the capital, Bamako, in the presence of Professor Lisana Drame, Director of the French-Arab African University in Mali, and Dr. Abdulsamad Ahmed Mega, President of Al Bayan Association, in addition to university and institute professors, students, lovers and connoisseurs of Arabic poetry. 

The general coordinator of the forum, Abdulqader Idris Mega, delivered a speech in which he expressed his happiness at organising this forum, which is a milestone in Mali, and extended his thanks, appreciation and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for His Highness’s continuous efforts in serving the Arabic language and Arabic poetry.

Abdulsamad Ahmed Mega, the association's president, welcomed the attendees and expressed his feelings of joy for holding this poetry forum, while Dr. Lisan Drammeh expressed his great admiration for the association's achievements in the fields of culture, language and literature, praising the efforts of the Department of Culture in Sharjah to make this distinguished poetry forum a success. 

The closing ceremony of the forum witnessed the honouring of the participating poets, in addition to cultural figures in Arabic literature in Mali with certificates of appreciation in appreciation of their efforts to advance Arabic literature in Mali.
