It features plants mentioned in the Holy Quran and Sunnah, including herbs, trees, fruits, vegetables, and more. Children can observe these plants up close, identify their shapes, and learn both their common names as well as those referenced in the Holy Quran and Sunnah, such as figs, pomegranates, and saffron.
Young visitors can use the smart screens in the garden to access information about each plant, including its benefits and uses. On top of that, they can taste the products of the garden through the café’s cuisine and juice selections. They can also explore other facilities such as the library and Interpretation Centre, which features various exhibitions, ornamental pools, and narrow waterways inspired by traditional aflaj (irrigation channels).
Islamic Botanical Garden is located at interchange 9, 30 kilometres east of Sharjah City, along Al Dhaid Highway (E88).
Overlooking Khalid Lagoon in Sharjah, this magical place allows children to watch over 500 different species of vibrant and colorful butterflies, such as the lime butterfly, new lacewing butterfly, tree nymph butterfly, clipper butterfly, autumn leaf butterfly, and peacock pansy butterfly.

Al Rafisah Dam is located on the highway connecting the cities of Sharjah and Khorfakkan on the United Arab Emirate’s east coast. The dam features a lake and several facilities, drawing families seeking leisure and enjoyment away from the noise of the cities.

The Sharjah Discovery Center, designed for children aged 3 to 12, encourages young visitors to learn and explore, introducing them to science and technology through play and fun. It provides a safe environment that allows them to engage in experiments and test things themselves across seven diverse main areas within the centre, including Water World, Airport, Body World, Build Town, Drive Town, Sports World, and TV Studio.
Examples of activities available for children include driving games to learn traffic rules, practising wall climbing, holding races with small boats, and playing soccer and basketball.

The Sharjah Science Museum welcomes diverse visitor groups, including families and children, providing an engaging and educational environment where visitors can discover scientific concepts through activities that blend learning and entertainment. The museum offers intriguing topics for children to explore, like the mysteries of space, functions of organs, and laws of nature. It also organises events designed to introduce children to the technological and scientific accomplishments of the human mind.
The museum is located next to Sharjah Archaeology Museum and Sharjah Media Corporation in Al-Abar area.
Sharjah Safari stands as an ideal destination for introducing children to African wildlife up close. Renowned as the largest safari outside Africa, it houses over 50,000 animals from more than 120 species of mammals, birds, and reptiles, including endangered species. Situated within Al Bardi Reserve in Al Dhaid city and spanning over 8 square kilometres, the safari features African trees and plants for children to discover, such as the massive Baobab tree and Washingtonia palms.
Among the unique animals that children can observe at the safari are the radiated tortoise, ring-tailed lemur, Madagascar teal, watusi cattle, African openbill, lesser flamingo, African elephant, pygmy goat, plains zebra, banded mongoose, and red lechwe.
In addition to Sharjah Safari, the emirate of Sharjah is rich with wildlife-focused attractions perfect for children and family visits. Among these is the Arabia’s Wildlife Centre located in the Sharjah Desert Park. The centre showcases a variety of local animals like the Arabian tiger, cheetah, lynxes, and flamingos. The Kalba Birds of Prey Centre is another highlight, which is home to 46 species of birds of prey, including falcons, eagles, owls, and hawks. Similarly, Al Hefaiyah Mountain Conservation Centre provides an opportunity to observe 30 species of mountain and desert animals, such as snakes, wolves, and desert lynx.
