Artist and engineer Waleed Omran, the workshop supervisor, stated that it began with a lecture on the historical and theoretical backgrounds of "scenography" and its role in enhancing the meanings and aesthetics of theatrical performance.
In an interview with Sharjah 24, he mentioned that the workshop is one of three that make up the Course on Theatrical Performance Elements, with around 30 trainees participating until August 7.
Omran highlighted that a scenographer's work encompasses all visual aspects of a theatrical performance, such as lighting, costumes, and colours. He also noted that the practical segment of the workshop includes sessions on the space of theatrical performance, providing participants with hands-on experience in the dimensions and techniques of stagecraft.
