Sharjah 24: His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, directed today, Tuesday, that the University of Sharjah's Chanceller send a letter to the Chairman of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA). The letter should list approved university students who did not receive their university ID number by the scholarship registration deadline so they can be recognized and awarded scholarships if they meet the requirements.
His Highness during a phone call on the "Direct Line" programme on Sharjah Radio and Television with Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director General of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, stated: "We have directed the Chanceller of the University of Sharjah to write a letter to the Chairman of the Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority listing approved university students who did not receive their university ID number by the scholarship registration deadline so they can be recognized and awarded scholarships if they meet the requirements.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah stated, "The aim here is for students who have recently been accepted into the University of Sharjah, not everyone who applies now. We cannot force the institutions to accept everyone; acceptance is conditional. Applicants at the Universities of Kalba, Khor Fakkan, and Al Dhaid are awarded scholarships immediately after their applications are accepted, and they are registered for studies if they meet the requirements. The university is responsible for granting them the scholarship, which has been in effect for a year at the University of Kalba and two years at Khor Fakkan. Fortunately, work at the University of Al Dhaid is moving swiftly in terms of new construction, hiring teaching staff, and establishing the curriculum."

His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi stated that the University of Al Dhaid has study facilities that many universities do not have, such as vegetable farms, fruit farms on the Al Deem Mountain, wheat farms, dairy farms, poultry, and cattle.

He also said, "We also have a honey production initiative, where bees feed on specially cared-for olive trees that receive no chemical sprays. Thankfully, pesticide-free olive trees on Al Deem Mountain have produced honey, and we are now embarking on a significant initiative, the rangelands project. We are enhancing these rangelands by improving sheep breeds for milk production and high-quality meat. Each pasture has a university-affiliated veterinary facility, and we have a fish project that we will address after the summer holiday, God willing."
