The programme also includes a workshop in cooperation with the Falconers Club, an exhibition of popular foods, as well as a fashion show of traditional Emirati dress, and traditional competitions and games. These activities aim to strengthen the Emirati national identity among the members.

For her part, Kaltham Obaid, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Thiqah Club, confirmed that the club’s management was keen to ensure that this year summer activity would be distinguished, not only for leisure time, but also as purposeful activities that contribute to refining the members’ personalities and acquiring the necessary skills and experiences. Kaltham Obaid added that the activities contribute to satisfying the members’ mental, physical and social needs in a sound educational manner, which contributes to building a positive personality capable of assuming responsibility and effective social participation.

Kaltham Obaid indicated that the main goal of these activities is to achieve the integration of club members with disabilities into society, through joint activities with their non-disabled peers, which strengthens social ties and encourages mutual understanding and respect.

Kaltham Obaid expressed her appreciation to SSC for its continued support of these valuable initiatives that enhance national identity and support people with disabilities in Sharjah.
