Sharjah Police have announced their summer 2024 campaign in coordination with the Ministry of the Interior. The Traffic and Patrols Directorate, part of Sharjah Police Headquarters, has initiated the "Summer Without Accidents" campaign to make roads safer this summer. September 1st is the end date of the campaign.
The "Summer Without Accidents" campaign, according to the Sharjah Police, is an effort to get people to recognise how important it is to follow the rules of the road and legislation pertaining to car safety and maintenance.

The programme is a yearly initiative by the Ministry of the Interior and the country's police commands to increase road safety and security, as well as to protect lives and public property.

In particular, the Sharjah Police Department stressed the need for drivers to follow all traffic laws, including those pertaining to speed limits, safe distances between cars, and preventative maintenance of vehicles, which is particularly important in the hot summer months.

As part of this, the drivers need to check that all of the lights and signals are working properly and that they don't put anything combustible in the car to protect it from heat stress in the summer.
