SCC to host a seminar on climate change

Sharjah24: The Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) will be hosting a seminar called "Climate Change: Preparedness, Opportunities, and Benefits" as part of its community programmes during the first regular session of its eleventh legislative term.
The seminar will be held at the council's headquarters in Sharjah, on Thursday, May 30, at 11:30 AM, following the conclusion of the general session. The event is anticipated to attract a wide range of experts and specialists in sustainable development and environmental protection, as well as a significant number of invitees.

The seminar is in line with the Sharjah Advisory Council's dedication to addressing urgent environmental concerns and exploring strategies for taking advantage on opportunities in the area of climate change. This will contribute to the accomplishment of sustainable development goals and the preservation of the environment.

Dr. Aisha Al Shehhi, an engineering expert at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, has been chosen to moderate the seminar. Dr. Rashid Mohammed Karkin, a renowned expert in sustainable development and environmental protection, will be presenting on the topic of "Achieving Sustainable Development Goals."

In addition, Engineer Shaima Al Ali, from the Studies, Research, and Development Department at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, will be addressing the topic of "Maintaining Balance Between Human Resource Use and Environmental Protection." She will shed light on the difficulties and possibilities of achieving this state of balance in the face of ongoing climate shifts.
