Sharjah 24: Ali Salem Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah International Airport Authority, said that the number of passengers increased by 10% in the first quarter of this year, reaching nearly 4 million.
He emphasised that the authority is participating in the Arabian Travel Market at Sharjah's pavilion, in collaboration with the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), to promote the emirate's services to tourists, visitors, and residents.
Al Midfa told "Sharjah 24" that Sharjah International Airport has seen substantial growth in passenger numbers and air traffic. The airport's passenger counts increased by 10% in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period last year, reaching about 4 million people. This growth is due to passengers' and service users' confidence in Sharjah International Airport's services.
Al Midfa noted a surge in the number of destinations served by Sharjah International Airport, whether through Air Arabia or other operating firms. Air Arabia will operate two new services to Athens and Krakow, Poland. Airport firms conducted a thorough analysis to select these new destinations, taking into account the growing travel market in the United Arab Emirates and the government's support for tourism in Sharjah.
