Sharjah 24: Al Hamriyah Club and UAE national team swimmer, Hamad Yousef Al Shehhi, continued his brilliance with the national team, after winning gold in the 50-metre freestyle, in the first Gulf Youth Games, which the UAE hosted during the period from April 16 to May 2, 2024.
Al Shehhi's tally was not limited to gold only, but he also won silver in the 100-metre freestyle, as well as a bronze in the 4x100 freestyle relay, after gold in the 50-metre freestyle and bronze in the 100-metre freestyle, at the Arab Water Sports Championship at the beginning of this year in Qatar.

Al Shehhi expressed his pride in representing the UAE national team and raising the country’s flag in the forums in which he participates with the national team.

He pointed out that this brilliance would not have been achieved without the ideal conditions provided by the Swimming Federation for the team’s swimmers, without neglecting the great efforts of the administrators and coaches, as well as the spirit of the group and the great harmony between the swimmers in all gatherings and events.

Al Shehhi also attributed his success to the continuous support of the Sharjah Sports Council, headed by His Excellency Issa Hilal, and the Board of Directors of the Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club, headed by His Excellency Humaid Al Shamsi, in addition to his coach at the club, Captain Ahmed Jamal Al Din.

Regarding his future ambitions, Al Shehhi stressed his achievements with the national team, whether in Qatar or here in the country, are an honour and an assignment at the same time, requiring him to be diligent so that he is always on time and raises the UAE flag in all the competitions in which he participates with the national team.
