SRTA pays 9.4 million dirhams to taxi number plates’ owners

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) announced the distribution of the annual reward to old taxi number plates’ owners in Sharjah for the year 2023, with a total value amounting to nine million four hundred and twenty-six thousand dirhams (9,426,000 dirhams), in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, with the aim of providing a decent life to low-income people.
Engineer Yousef Khamis Al Othmani, Chairman of SRTA, revealed the start of disbursing the annual reward to owners of old taxi numbers, which are currently operated by franchise companies under the authority’s umbrella, with a total of 4,713 beneficiaries.

Abdulaziz Muhammad Al Jarwan, Director of the Authority for Transport Affairs, said that the step comes in compliance with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and with the follow-up of the Executive Council and His Highness’s keenness to monitor his sons and their living conditions, including taxi number plates’ owners, to enable them to meet the requirements of life and provide a decent living for them and their families, and to embody the concept of social solidarity prevailing among its members.

Al Jarwan explained that disbursing the reward to eligible owners takes place after fulfilling all applicable conditions and instructions, indicating that the Authority is keen to facilitate the procedures for obtaining the reward without any obstacles, calling on owners of vehicle numbers who do not meet the disbursement conditions to expedite the completion of all required papers and documents and submit them to receive their financial dues, adding that they can contact the Authority on (600525252), or on (0564144667).
