Sharjah24: The Al-Sharjah men's handball team remained at the top of the general handball league table after overcoming their guest, the Al-Wasl team, with a score of 31-26 in the match that brought the two teams together as part of the thirteenth round of the preliminary round of the competition on Tuesday evening at Al-Sharjah Sports Club Hall in the Emirate of Sharjah. The first half of the match finished with Al-Sharjah leading (17-12).

With this win, Al-Sharjah now has 37 points, claiming the top position in the preliminary round before playing Mleiha away from home in the second leg's final round next Monday.

This year's league competition for the 2023–2024 sports season takes place in three states to decide the champion and the overall rating of the eight clubs competing in the championship.

It begins with a preliminary round in a two-leg league system, followed by semifinals between the top four teams with two legs each, and concludes with a final round between the golden square winners and the remaining teams from fifth to eighth place in a single-leg league to determine their positions.
