Sharjah 24: Zainab Al Hosani, a fencer from the Sharjah Women's Sports Club and the national team, has successfully qualified for the Asian qualifiers for the Paris 2024 Olympics, known as the "Zone Championship." The qualifiers are scheduled to take place on April 27th and 28th at the Zayed Sports Complex in Fujairah.
The UAE Fencing Federation selected three players from the Sharjah Women's Sports Club, namely Anoud Al Saadi, Sheikha Al Za'ali, and Zainab Al Hosani, to participate in the recent local qualifiers organised by the federation to choose the best representatives for the country in the upcoming Asian qualifiers. Zainab Al Hosani distinguished herself and secured her qualification for the final stages of the Olympic qualification due to her excellence and experience in the sport.
Fatima Qarami, the technical director of fencing at the Sharjah Women's Sports Club, emphasised that Zainab Al Hosani's qualification for the upcoming Asian qualifiers was due to her competence and excellence. Al Hosani is considered one of the best athletes in épée fencing at the national level, which led to her success in securing her spot in the qualifiers.
She added, "The player is undergoing a special preparation and training period in anticipation of the upcoming qualifiers. This includes morning and evening training sessions, as well as both domestic and international training camps. The goal is to ensure that she reaches her peak performance level before heading into the final qualifiers. Securing an Olympic qualification spot is not only the dream and goal of the club but also of the UAE national team."
