Sharjah 24: As part of the activities of the holy month of Ramadan, Al Rahmaniyah Suburb Council organised a Ramadan night, under the title “A Cohesive Family... A Safe Community”.
The Council hosted His Eminence Professor Dr. Suleiman Al Ruhaili, imam and preacher of the Quba Mosque, professor of the Fatwa Chair, teacher at the Masjid Nabawi, and advisor to the president of the Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice (CPVPV), in a session where he touched on the importance of strengthening family ties in building a cohesive and safe society.
The Ramadan night saw a large audience from residents, at the headquarters of the council in the city of Sharjah, in the presence of His Excellency Ahmed Al Matroushi, Chairman of Al Rahmaniyah Suburb Council, and a number of members.
During the Ramadan night, several topics were discussed, including the importance of the family as the basis in building society and the necessity of promoting the values of brotherhood and solidarity within and outside the family.
Dr. Al Ruhaili stressed the importance of effective communication between family members and between neighbours and society, noting that social cohesion enhances safety and stability in societies. Methods of enhancing understanding and cooperation among family members were also discussed, especially how to strengthen family relationships in a way that contributes to building a conscious and cohesive generation.
Dr. Al Ruhaili explained that a cohesive family constitutes the foundation of a strong society, as it is the first environment, in which the individual grows and learns the values of belonging, responsibility, and empathy. The cohesive family is characterised by the presence of strong bonds between its members, where understanding, cooperation, and mutual respect prevail. The cohesive family also has the ability to adapt to challenges and solve problems and address problems constructively, which contributes to building psychologically and socially balanced individuals.
During his speech, Al Ruhaili touched on the importance of identifying the parties and entities responsible for protecting family cohesion, stressing the great and influential role of parents in achieving such cohesion, by raising children on the foundations of a successful life, thus creating a cohesive and stable generation capable of bearing their own responsibility.
