“Majalis Ramadaneyah” unveils past and present life in Ramadan

Sharjah 24: “Majalis Ramadaneyah” programme was launched in a new season on Sharqiya Kalba TV channel, taking viewers on a beautiful journey that takes their memories back to the most beautiful customs and traditions of the Holy Month. The eastern regions and suburbs, in particular, are famous to have special customs and traditions during the Holy Month, and the Emirati family in general, welcomes the month of the Quran with generosity to others.
The programme was filmed in different councils, including the Kalba City Council, the Suhaila Council, Dibba Al Hisn Council, and the Subaihiya Council in Khorfakkan. The programme includes people of the region, who lived through the traditions and customs of the beautiful time, to tell new generations exceptional stories that shed light on different topics that help the viewer to compare the holy month in the past and the present, and how customs and traditions have changed over time. The programme also talks about welcoming the month of Ramadan and the distinctive events and activities that characterise this period, with a focus on Ramadan customs that are still rooted in society to this day.

In the first episode of the programme this season, the preparations that precede the month of Ramadan were discussed between the past and the present, from spotting the crescent and announcing the beginning of the holy month through “Al Tarish,” which conveys the news, and how to announce suhoor through “Al Masaharati,” which are customs that were and still represent an essential part of people's lives in Ramadan.

“Majalis Ramadaneyah” programme me is broadcast every Friday and Saturday at 21:15 and is presented by journalist Khaled Al Dateb and journalist Maryam Allay, who offer viewers an opportunity to enjoy an atmosphere of friendliness and cohesion and contemplate the meanings of the holy month through experiences and stories, 

Mr. Ismail Issa Al Hosani, Director of Sharqiya Kalba TV channel, confirmed that “Majalis Ramadaneyah” programme provides content that is appropriate for the holy month and reflects the Ramadan values inherent in the Emirati family, indicating that the channel is keen to provide content that raises awareness and combines education and entertaining conversations, considering that the programme succeeded in shedding light on the traditions of ancestors, especially in the month of Ramadan. He added that the programme also conveys a clear message to new generations of the necessity of adhering to the beautiful customs and traditions that enhance cooperation, generosity, and giving, which are among the most important purposes of the month of Ramadan.
